Consumer Expo Focuses on Resources and Products That Help Make Life Easier for people 50+

An interesting, fun and free event is coming to Santa Monica. Open to all ages, the Boomers & Beyond Action Expo will highlight innovative services and products geared towards our aging population.

As Baby Boomers enter their 50s and 60s, an exciting new market of services and products has grown.  The changing needs of this demographic is fueling emerging industries that produce everything from holistic wellness products to organizations such as "Grandparents as Parents".    Showcasing these popular products and services is the “Boomers and Beyond ACTION Expo” on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main St., Santa Monica. No matter what your age, I recommend you check it out.

There will be blood pressure and varicose vein screenings, "Ask the Doctor" consulations and refreshments.

The Expo brings together the businesses that are producing innovative products and services, with the consumers that want or need them. Exhibitors will include more than 50 businesses and nonprofits representing transportation, caregiving, fitness and well being, innovation and technology, health care, aging in place and professional and community services. Among the exhibitors are experts from Legal Aid and local law firms, financial and investment experts from the banking industry and representatives from fraud prevention organizations including the Santa Monica Police, CA Department of Insurance, CA Department of Corporations and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. These businesses will showcase their innovations that accommodate the aging population, helping them live safely in their homes for as long as possible.
