Let the Learning Continue Afterschool with CREST Enrichment & Sports Classes!

Sign your child up now for ceramics, musical theater, golf, flag football, volleyball and more! Classes begin the week of September 26th.

The new school year is underway. The kids are settled into their classrooms, making new friends and adjusting to the new routine.  Now that you have things under control with school, how about afterschool?   The City of Santa Monica’s CREST program offers a variety of sports teams and instruction, plus enrichment classes for youth in grades K-8.  Sports and enrichment classes are held at Santa Monica public elementary and middle schools and are open to all kids even if they do not attend the school.  Classes begin the week of September 26  and run for 8 weeks.

Boys and girls can get their game on this Fall with flag football and volleyball.  Team sports are a great way for kids to learn the fundamentals of the game, sportsmanship and make new friends.  Grades K-2 meet on Mondays for one hour, 15 minutes after school dismal.  K- Participants will be picked up from their classroom  and 1-2 graders enrolled in CREST Childcare are picked up from the CREST classrooms. Otherwise kids meet their coach on the field/court.  Flag football and volleyball league teams (grades 3-8) meet twice a week, with Saturday games beginning on October 8th. Fall Season sports cost $125.

In addition to sports, your child can sing, dance and act in a short production of “ A Harry Potter  Musical” , learn about engineering in SmarTech’s Lego Class, improve their golf or tennis swing, create 3-D art in Ceramics,  or conduct experiments in Mad Science.  There are a lot of other classes in art, dance, language and karate. Please visit crest.smgov.net to view a comprehensive citywide list of CREST Enrichment classes.  If a class isn’t offered at your school this session or enrollment is full, you have the option of enrolling in that class at another school if space is available.
