Spring Break Staycation? Enroll Your Kids in a City Camp

Kids will be on spring break the first two weeks of April. The City of Santa Monica offers a wide range of camps, classes and drop-in activities at various locations around town.

Spring Break is just around the corner. Kids in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District are off April 2-13. If you are planning to stay in town and are looking for something for your kids to do during the two-week break, give the city’s Spring Break camps and activities a try!

Our excellent line-up includes all-day camps like Camp Santa Monica and Santa Monica Sports Experience, as well as shorter camps and classes in yoga, art, performing arts, Spanish, soccer and more. Or, check the schedules for facilities like our and —there’s lots of fun drop-in activities planned. Visit smgov.net/recscape for more information.

Camp Santa Monica provides action-packed, fun-filled activities and experiences for your camper. This spring Camp Santa Monica is offering three new and innovative Discovery Camps (we changed the name because we thought this would be confusing with Rosie’s Girls, which will now be marketed as a “Specialty Camp”) that will give your child the opportunity to explore his/her own personal interests! Campers can sign-up for a full week of Engineering & Math, Mixed Media Arts, Water Adventure Clinics or Teen Explorers. The cost per week is $200 for residents and $220 for non-residents. Visit crest.smgov.net for more information.

Santa Monica Sports Experience is a unique sports camp for boys and girls who enjoy sports activities, action-packed tournaments and innovative, organized games. Santa Monica Sports Experience strives to stimulate a love for sports and sportsmanship in youth of all athletic abilities.  Whether it’s learning new sports skills with the highly trained coaching staff or participating in an exciting, specialized sports class, your child will look forward to a new challenge every day.  This camp is $200 per week for residents and $220 for non-residents. Visit crest.smgov.net for more information.

One of the most unique experiences for girls happens here in Santa Monica!  Rosie’s Girls alumnae, who have participated in the summer program one or more times, are paired with 5th graders to introduce them to the Rosie’s Girls experience. Older girls work side-by-side and mentor 5th grade girls as they work on fun, hands-on projects in carpentry and welding, creative expression, physical challenges, leadership development and more. This spring each participant will be designing and building their own trades project, It's Time To... CLOCKS!  Payment plans are available upon request.  Visit rosiesgirls.smgov.net for more information. The session is April 9–13 and costs $380 for residents and $485 for non-residents. An additional $25 materials fee is required for which financial assistance is not available.
