Blog | Downtown Ambassadors Get a new Look

Trendy new uniforms replace trademark khakis, red polo shirts and safari hats.

If you’ve been out on Third Street Promenade in the last week or so, you might have noticed a change. The friendly Downtown Santa Monica Ambassadors who greet you as you’re walking by and provide directions and other assistance, are sporting a brand new look.

Downtown Santa Monica Inc., the company that oversees the Ambassador program, has designed the new uniforms to reflect the fresh, new brand identity that was recently rolled out for the organization.  The Ambassadors’ trademark khakis, red polo shirts and safari hats have now been replaced by stylish grey slacks, teal/turquoise embroidered shirts, and fedoras with turquoise hat bands, custom-made by Victor’s Tailors on 7th and Santa Monica Blvd. Another exciting new addition to the uniform is the waist bag. Custom-created by designer Hannah Hartnell, whose studio is on 4th & Broadway, the bags sit comfortably on the hip and hold a supply of maps and brochures for the Ambassadors to hand out.

The new uniforms were designed to be highly visible to Santa Monica visitors, to make the brand more readily identifiable to guests, and be comfortable for the Ambassadors to wear in all types of weather and situations.  In addition to the polo shirts, they will also have logoed grey, zip-up collared jackets that can be worn in cooler or inclement weather.
