Downtown Santa Monica unveils its calendar of community holiday events, including the return of the ICE at Santa Monica Skating Rink, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Chanukah Menorah Lightings and more!

In celebration of the holiday season, Downtown Santa Monica is excited to unveil its calendar of Winterlit community holiday events this season.  Festivities include the return of the ever-popular ICE at Santa Monica Grand Opening Celebration and Holiday Concert; the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Chanukah Menorah Lightings, free family-friendly activities, and many more surprises to come!

Downtown Santa Monica’s enormously popular ICE at Santa Monica skating rink returns for its 6th year!  ICE at Santa Monica is a unique outdoor venue where skaters can enjoy the festive winter season under the stars! 1324 5th Street (Corner of 5th & Arizona).

In what has now become a community tradition, Downtown Santa Monica is bringing the 6th Annual ICE at Santa Monica back with an exciting Grand Opening Celebration on Thursday, November 8th from 6pm-10pm. The evening will be hosted by Randy Gardner and Tai Babilonia and will feature entertaining performances by synchronized skating team California Gold and California's most elite skaters, a holiday concert by Venice, a night of free skating to music by DJ Kelly Dlux and a host of other family-friendly activities.

ICE at Santa Monica will be open to the public daily November 2, 2012 through January 21, 2013.  Admission and skate rental is $12.  ICE Bites Café will provide delicious snacks, and a mini kids rink will be available for children ages 6 & under.  Special event cabanas and party packages will also be offered.  Lockers are available onsite.

Monday-Thursday: 2pm-10pm,

Friday: 2pm-Midnight.

Saturday: 10am-Midnight,

Sunday: 10am-10pm.

Holiday Tree Lighting & Santa Arrival at Santa Monica Place

Saturday, November 17 – 6pm

In celebration of the holiday season, visitors will enjoy a day of entertainment, children's activities, a holiday concert and more, all culminating with a festive tree lighting ceremony at Santa Monica Place in Downtown Santa Monica.  Santa will light the Center Plaza tree, accompanied by a dramatic snowfall.

Children of all ages are invited to a breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Clause. All will enjoy a meet & greet, giveaways and fun activities. Admission is $5. Children 2 and under are free. Guests receive a complimentary 5x7 photo with any package purchase.

Chanukah Menorah Lighting

December 8-16, Sundown

Third Street Promenade at Wilshire Blvd.

Downtown Santa Monica will celebrate the Chanukah season with a traditional menorah lighting every evening at sundown. Come celebrate with local synagogues and temples throughout the week.

Cookie Making & Story Time with Mrs. Claus at Santa Monica Place

Join us for cookies & milk, and seasonal stories.  Mrs. Claus visits The Plaza for a very special event!

Photos with Santa at Santa Monica Place

Come to Santa Monica Place and have your picture taken with Santa Claus!  Bring family and friends to visit Santa in the Plaza daily for photos and to share holiday wishes.

PAL “It’s a Wrap Gift Party”

Tuesday, December 18 – 4:30-6:30pm

Join the Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL), Downtown Santa Monica, Santa Monica Place, community volunteers and local dignitaries to help wrap donated gifts that were collected through the Best Gift Ever Toy Drive.   PAL will then distribute the gifts to hundreds of children, ages 6-17, who might not otherwise receive presents this holiday season.
