A Santa Monica Ice Rink Proposal
Just before the downtown ice rink closed for the season, it was the stage for an engagement.
As if getting down on one knee isn't nerve racking enough, one man did it Friday on ice.
Valentine's Day came early for one couple, and ICE at Santa Monica was the venue. Wedding proposal planners The Hearts Bandits tell the short story of the engagement at the downtown skating rink.
On the ice where couple Stefanie and Leigh had skated during one of their first dates, red roses spelled out "Stefanie, Will You Marry Me?"

"She was in complete shock and so happy. After Leigh proposed, all of her friends jumped out to surprise her," the bloggers reported.
The ice rink closed Friday after being open since mid-November.
