On Thursday morning, another power outage occurred in Santa Monica, with 1,677 residents losing electricity from 3:18 to 6:41 a.m. The outage was due to equipment failure, according to a representative from Southern California Edison.
The outage affected residents located between Colorado Avenue to the north, Pico Boulevard to the south, Fifth Street to the west and 14th Street to the east, according to Edison media department representative Lauren Bartlett.
However, additional customers outside those boundaries also lost power, Santa Monica Patch has learned. Bartlett said Edison was not aware of the additional residents affected by the outage.
Also, Bartlett said the location of the equipment failure has not been made known.

During the past 40 years, Edison has spewed the exact same hogwash bull spin excuses, year after year, to City after City, in which Edison proclaims to the City Council that the Edison own grid is very outdated and in great need to be upgraded to meet higher demands because of expanded growth in power demands. The best way to resolve the Edison problem is for the City to purchase ten made in California Bloom Boxes (AS SEEN ON SUNDAYS CBS TV 60 MINUTES) with a 20 % Federal grant and 30% California grant that would amount to a $5,000,000 total purchase savings to power the grid with environmentally clean green technology that uses waste to create power and clean our air. The problem is the our Mayor Bloom and the other Blooming 6 Santa Monica City Council Dictators never listen to We The People or even care to best meet the needs of We The People. Pro Se Santa Monica
