  • A healthy debate (we hope) is due to take place at the , where a community meeting will be held regarding construction at . The hospital is planning to install hundreds of additional parking spaces on its property and at off-site facilities—and residents who are not happy with the proposal will be voicing their concerns. Loudly, we presume. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

The Runner-Up

  • Meanwhile, expect the scene to be a bit more calm at another community meeting, happening at . It will be the fifth "Let's Talk " discussion, with project architects Koning Eizenberg providing updates on their design for the project. The meeting is slated to last from 7 to 9 p.m.

Other Happenings

  • Traffic and pedestrian safety continues to be in Santa Monica, and seniors who want to talk and learn more about the subject should attend a related workshop today. Community members, health and transportation professionals, police officers, and City officials will be among those discussing how to change pedestrian and driver behavior, and the walking environment. The meeting is happening at the from 9 a.m. to noon.
  • On the other end of the spectrum, puppet-loving kids will be in for a treat today, when the hosts an event called "April Jollies." A puppet show and story time are on the program, which starts at 4:30 p.m. and is intended for 3-to-7-year-olds.
  • Dig this: Irrigation—including no-irrigation practices, how to best utilize graywater and rain water, and rain-harvesting techniques—will be the focus of tonight's Sustain Landscape Design meeting. It's happening from 4 to 7 p.m. at 's Bundy campus.
