  • A day after the fall semester began at , a new exhibition is opening in its Pete & Susan Barrett Art Gallery. runs through Oct. 8, with a reception happening Sept. 9.
  • Relatedly, the continues today as well. The works of seven current and former SMC students are being shown at the exhibition, which will be on display through Nov. 13. Viewing hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Also at the Annenberg Beach House today, local playwright Dorothy Fortenberry will read from her new work, , which was inspired by Anton Chekov's The Cherry Orchard.
