The Main Event

  • With the NFL's Hall of Fame Weekend postponed for this year, football fans might find some solace in Hall of Famer Jerry Rice's visit to the today. The man considered to be the best wide receiver of all time will answer questions as part of the store's Gear Up Night. The Q&A session starts at 5 p.m.

The Runner-Up

  • Rice, who also has Dancing With the Stars in his credits, isn't the only reality-show personality in town today. Master Chef star Joe Bastianich will be at for the "Summer of Bastianich Dinner." For $55, you can meet Bastianich and try wines he selected to go along with Chef Michael Reardon's dishes. The event runs from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

  • The 's  continues this evening with a Heal the Bay-supported concert celebrating our oceans. Incidentally, the —which is operated by Heal the Bay—just staged an . The show, which is presented by Cirque du Soleil, will feature the soul-inflected quartet Tutu Sweeney & the Brothers Band, along with the jazzy Nelson Marquez & the Moderators. As usual, the concert will take place from 7 to 10 p.m.
  • If you're more interested in a movie than a concert, head over to the , which will screen 1991's Sean Penn-directed drama, The Indian Runner, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $11, with discounts available.

Last but Not Least

  • If you're heading to the aforementioned pier concert—and are over 21—get there an hour early for the ongoing wine-sipping series .
