SANTA MONICA 4TH OF JULY PARADE
Where/When: Main Street; 9:30 a.m. Wednesday
Why go: Enjoy watching the annual 4th of July parade march down Main Street. Accept some weirdness, this year's theme is science and technology.
Pricing: Free

FERRIS WHEEL DISPLAY
Where/When: , 380 Santa Monica Pier; 8:08 p.m. Wednesday
Why go: Pacific Park's Ferris wheel will be lit in red, white and blue and patriotic patterns until midnight in honor of Independence Day.
Pricing: Free admission

FOURTH OF JULY BASH
Where/When: 31 Ten Lounge, 3110 Main St.; 2 p.m. Wednesday
Why go: Food and drink specials and music by deejays Norman Rockwell and
Coolwhip. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Surfrider Foundation. Participants can crawl to a half a dozen bars and indulge in drink specials at each location. Deals include $3 beers and $5 shots. Participants will receive a map of participating bars.
Pricing: $10 in advance, $20 at the door
