Downtown Street Will Close for Expo Work

The eastbound lane of Colorado Avenue between Fourth and Fifth streets will close permanently.

Work to build a downtown station for the Expo Light Rail will permanently close the eastbound lane of Colorado Avenue between Fourth and Fifth streets starting Feb. 18.

Crews will work between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, according to a notice from the city.

The downtown station is one of three being built in Santa Monica. It will serve as the western terminus for the Expo line, which will take riders to downtown Los Angeles in about 45 minutes.
