Utility Repairs Close 2 Lanes of PCH

Motorists warned to avoid PCH near the California Incline until about 10 p.m. Thursday.

Two of three southbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were closed Thursday between the California Incline and McClure Tunnel while Southern California Edison made emergency repairs to its utility equipment.

Repairs were made after equipment failure in an underground vault in the 1300 block of PCH. Twenty three customers were without power, according to Edison spokesman David J. Song.

"We hope to get folks up and running by 10 p.m.," he said.
