Feb. 4: Café Samo Is Open

Hi, everyone. On Thursday, a handful of new features were rolled out on Santa Monica Patch: Get Out and Go, House Hunt, Patch Picks, Viewfinder and Bites Nearby. We also reported on Samohi basketball teams beating Culver City on Wednesday night.

The Main Event

  • The annual Café Samo happens tonight at . Hosted by the Samohi Choir Program, the show spotlights musical acts created and produced by students. The café will last from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Humanities Center Theater, on the second floor of the English Building; tickets are $10. Food and drink will be on sale before the show and during intermission.

  • Sayonara, Gensler and Thomas Properties. Though it's already been reported, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will formally announce the firm's move to downtown L.A. after more than 20 years in Santa Monica. He will make the announcement at City National Plaza at 9:30 a.m.
