The Main Event

  • The 's free Co-op Food for Thought Series continues today with a discussion titled Women's Health After 30: Maintaining Balance During Change. The talk, happening from 7 to 8 p.m., will be led by Santa Monica Healing Arts founder Dr. Eric P. Dahlström. Go here for more info.

  • Incidentally, during that same time, hosts a discussion called Maximize Your Maternity Leave. "This class at The Pump Station will give you the foundation you need so that you don't forfeit your benefits," the group said in its Santa Monica Patch event listing. The cost is $25.

Other Happenings

  • The Sustainable Bill of Rights, the single-use carry-out and environmental impacts at are among the topics on the agenda for tonight's Task Force on the Environment meeting. It starts at 7 p.m. at the .
  • Meeting at the same time in the Council Chambers at is the Architectural Review Board, which is due to talk about sustainable building design, sign-code enforcement and the proposed "City of Santa Monica Design Awards." Go here for the full agenda.
  • Also convening tonight is the Arts Commission. Their latest regular meeting will take place at the Ken Edwards Center beginning at 6:30 p.m.

This Day in Santa Monica History

  • On June 20, 1994, the city of Santa Monica designated the residence at 506 Adelaide as a Structure of Merit. It was built in 1923 by John Byers.
