"A few showers and isolated thunderstorms [could] spark up just about anywhere over Los Angeles and Ventura counties this morning," National Weather Service meteorologists reported, "then spread across the entire region later this afternoon."

A high pressure system will return to the area Friday through Saturday. But monsoonal moisture might creep back into Los Angeles County Sunday through Monday, according to the Weather Service forecast.
