Rain Possible for Santa Monica Area

Forecasters predict a 20 percent chance of rain for Santa Monica Wednesday night and into Thursday. Check the interactive map for rain levels in the local area.

The Weather Channel predicts a 20 percent chance of rain Wednesday night and Thursday in Santa Monica.

The forecast calls for partly cloudy conditions during the night and extending into Thursday.

The map, maintained by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, displays rain levels across the county in real time. Adjust the map to display rain levels for various hours, days and weeks.

The map also shows precipitation levels for the rainy season to date and the normal rain levels for the season.

Since the start of the season in October, many parts of the county have received less than 10 percent percent of their normal precipitation levels. The conditions have raised concerns about fire hazards and officials have urged homeowners to cut back dry brush.
