  • The Annenberg Community Beach House unveils its latest art exhibit today. Considering Eden features works by five California artists and highlights their relationship to landscapes. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Event House.
  • , in its continuing effort to , is staging the second edition of "Tale Spin" this evening. At the monthly event, attendees are invited to share their personal stories that revolve around a given theme (this month's is "danger"). The cost is $10.
  • Garay P. Menicucci—the one-time Fulbright Scholar who is now at the University of California, Santa Barbara—will shed light on the colonial background of conflicts in the Middle East when he speaks today at . "Constructions of Nationalism in the Middle East & the Roots of Contemporary Conflict" will take place at 11:15 a.m. in Humanities & Social Science Lecture Hall 165 on the school's main campus.

  • On Mar. 31, 2010, the Bayside District—which recently changed its name to Downtown Santa Monica, Inc.—announced that the downtown farmers market was having its best fiscal year to date, despite the Great Recession.
