'Ramp Jam' 405 Freeway Closure Schedule

Two lanes will close in both directions of Wilshire Boulevard between Veteran and Federal avenues this weekend. Before heading east, check what other streets will close.

Street closures are in effect starting Thursday night as construction crews demolish the 405 Freeway Wilshire Boulevard westbound/northbound on- and off-ramps.

The work is part of a , dubbed "Ramp Jamp" and "Rampture."

Adding to the traffic woes, the Veterans Administration will close the gates to its West Los Angeles campus, a typical shortcut for Santa Monica residents avoiding the Wilshire Boulevard snarl.

At 10 p.m., the 405 Freeway Wilshire Boulevard westbound/northbound on- and off-ramps will close for demolition and reconstruction. The demolition portion of the project will take three days, during which time street closures will be in effect, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Agency:

THURSDAY

  • Full closure of Sepulveda Boulevard between Wilshire Boulevard and Montana Avenue; 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two lanes closed in both directions of Wilshire Boulevard between Veteran and Federal avenues; 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

  • Full closure of Sepulveda Boulevard between Wilshire Boulevard and Montana Avenue; 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. 
  • Two lanes closed in both directions on Wilshire Boulevard between Veteran and Federal avenues; 9 p.m. to 10 a.m.

SUNDAY

  • Full closure of Sepulveda Boulevard between Wilshire Boulevard and Montana Avenue; 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. 
  • Two lanes closed in both directions on Wilshire Boulevard between Veteran and Federal; 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
