Santa Monica Residents Lose Power—Again

The outage occurs Thursday morning.

On Thursday morning, yet another power outage occurred in Santa Monica, with 1,893 residents losing electricity starting at 4:38 a.m. The outage, which affected two circuits, was due to a failed underground cable along Lincoln Boulevard.

At 6:51 a.m., power was restored for 581 residents. The remaining 1,312 got their electricity back at 7:37 a.m.

"Our crews are investigating the cable and making the appropriate repairs," Southern California Edison spokeswoman Lois Pitterbruce told Santa Monica Patch.
