Summer Heat to Return Tuesday
Take a ride on the Southern California weather roller coaster: hot, dry winds will diminish Tuesday at the beaches as temperatures soar. Cool and damp weekend in store.
After a chilly night, a dramatic warm-up is forecast Tuesday with daytime high temperatures climbing to the upper 70s along the Los Angeles County coast, according to the National Weather Service.
The above-average temperatures will linger through Wednesday, according to the Weather Service, before falling below normal Friday as a low pressure system approaches the Southland. Scattered showers are possible over the weekend, meteorologists said.
Low humidity readings and hot, gusty winds triggered Red Flag warnings Monday in the mountains and canyons from Malibu to Saugus. The warnings are in effect until Tuesday night.
