The 34th Annual Venice-Santa Monica Christmas Run, a free Santa Monica Symphony concert and a toy drive at the Basement Tavern are among this weekend's activities.

Why go: The Cirque du Soleil Truck will be on site (just outside of Old Navy), giving free Cirque du Soleil gifts, providing photo opportunities and offering a 25 percent discount on tickets to IRIS (at the Kodak Theatre) and OVO (coming to the Santa Monica Pier) to everyone who stops by.
