Blog | Areal Restaurant's Tis The Season Cocktail Dinner

Areal on Main Street will serve a four course meal by Chef Mette Williams with cocktails made with whiskey and bourbon.

Westsiders who are looking to get into the spirit of the holidays have the unique opportunity to enjoy some fine winter spirits elegantly paired with a gourmet meal by the sea next week!

You will not want to miss this event—invite someone special, bring a friend, or go make a friend you can bring along to Areal Restaurant’s Tis The Season Cocktail Dinner on December 14th at 7:30 p.m.

Get ready to enjoy a delectable holiday dinner to get you in the spirit and celebrate the start of Whiskey Season! Your elegant four course meal will be prepared by Chef Mette Williams, formerly of Spaggo and SoHo House. Each course will be paired with a unique cocktail made from Heaven Hill’s American Whiskey Collection.

This dinner will feature cocktails made with: Elijah Craig 12 year Bourbon, Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage, Rittenhouse Bottled in Bond Rye and the newly released Larceny Bourbon.

Guests can expect their dinner to be served with a side of knowledge as Andie Brokaw from Heaven Hill will be on hand to lead diners through the tasting and the story of each whiskey. If you aren’t a connoisseur of whiskey, you will be by the time your dessert spoon hits your empty plate.

Your rustic, wintery four course meal will include, truffle mushroom crostini with goat cheese cream and porchetta, stuffed quail with persimmon all spice and sage, pine smoked venison and sweet potato shepherds pie and a blood orange tart with almond crust and cardamon cream. Drool alert!

If you haven’t been, Areal Restaurant is a relatively new establishment on Main Street in Santa Monica, but locals couldn’t be more pleased with its low key vibe and hip interior that is somewhat reminiscent of the kind of ambiance you find in New York City. The added bonus: you’re two blocks from the beach. The restaurant prides itself on excellent service. Areal continues to impress its patrons with new weekly events like Whiskey Wednesday, (enjoy a secret menu of specialty cocktails, or have the barkeep make you something of their own choosing.) Incredible live music can be heard regularly and the menu continues to evolve to include locally grown, sustainable, seasonal ingredients. Not only that but their barmen make some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, and that’s seriously saying something.

The Tis The Season Cocktail Dinner will kick off Areal’s new cocktail menus that will feature classics like Death in the Afternoon, The Preakness, and the Fish House Punch, as well as their own creations like the 50 Day Barrel Aged Pinewood Derby. If that doesn’t  send your taste buds into an anticipatory frenzy, I’m not sure what will.
