1450 Ocean presents: Crepe Paper Jumbo Gardenias with Ji Kim

With just crepe paper and wire, craft luscious blossoms and leaves to make an elegant bouquet. Learn how to construct an oversize Gardenia and leafy accompaniment using basic cutting and shaping techniques. You'll also learn how to make your own pattern from pictures of flowers or from life, and explore the characteristics of crepe paper, the fundamentals of crepe paper sculpting technique, and various forms of  construction. If time permits, we'll make decoupaged vases for our creations, and if not you'll go home with directions and ideas!

Ji Kim is an architectural designer by day and a self taught paper florist by night. Mainly because she couldn't ignore the growing desire to make something beautiful using her own two hands, she is now the proud owner and creative hands behind a petite handmade paper flower shop in Los Angeles called Blooms in the Air. It is through the paper flowers that she crafts petal by petal that she is able to appreciate the little things in life. In Person: For cash or check, advance registration accepted 1450 Ocean between 9am-5pm M-F & 11am-4pm Saturday. Day-of: Call 310-458-2239 to confirm availability by the Tuesday before class starts. * Bring cash to cover material fees on the first day of class.

Refunds/Transfers: For all multisession classes, refunds/transfers will be issued only if requested within one business day after the first class meeting. A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Any material fees are nonrefundable. All single-session classes are nonrefundable. Parking and Transport: Parking is $1 for first 2.5 hours in Parking Structure 7 (off Broadway west of 4th) or 8 (off 2nd St. north of Colorado) adjacent to the Santa Monica Place Mall. Every 30 min. thereafter is $1.50 to a maximum of $14. There are also meters on Ocean Avenue; $2/hr maximum 2 hours. After hours local lots offer flat rates.
