Learn how to wet-felt around a 'resist' to create a hollow pod. Colorful and organic, these little bowls make modern, eye-catching ornaments, or can serve as functional containers fillable with anything you fancy - including plants, jewelry or other small items. The techniques learnt in this class can be applied to make bags, hats ... and more pods!

Sara Smelt is a British-born contemporary felt artist. Trained as a scientist, her creative side always competed for attention. When she discovered felting, she found something that combined science, art, and a little magic! Traditional felt, created by combining fine layers of sheep wool, is nothing like the synthetic felt squares found at craft stores. 'Real' felt can be shaped, molded and combined with silk and other fabrics to create stunning textures and textiles. Sara is a member of Designing Weavers, a prestigious Los Angeles-based Fiber Art Guild and teaches throughout Southern California. More info at FeltEvolution.com
