Camera Obscura: Tracing 360˚- a collaboration between 1450 Ocean and Otis College of Art and Design, presented in conjunction with The Big Draw.
Join distinguished artist DJ Hall for this unique workshop, which utilizes the Camera Obscura for one of this vintage technology's original purposes. We'll be covering the viewing platter with paper and inviting participants to trace outlines from our 360˚ view. Practice outline and observation of bustling street life or tranquil landscapes from the fascinating remove of a dark room. Includes drawing supplies.

For those who love to draw, and those who think they can't! October is Big Draw month in twenty countries, and over 200,000 people take part in this immense drawing festival. Thousands of drawing activities connect people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists - and each other. The Big Draw was started in the UK in 2000 by the Guild of St. George, a non-profit group founded by 19th century artist, critic, and educator John Ruskin. Since its launch in 2000, The Big Draw has highlighted the power of drawing to help people see, think, invent and take action. The Los Angeles edition of The Big Draw has been presented by Ryman Arts since 2010. thebigdrawla.org
