ACTIVIST JERRY RUBIN'S 70TH BIRTHDAY PUBLIC CELEBRATION & BENEFIT FUNDRAISER TO HELP SAVE AND RESTORE PAUL CONRAD'S 'CHAIN REACTION' PEACE SCULPTURE

This special event will be a fun-filled public birthday celebration for longtime peace activist Jerry Rubin and a benefit fundraiser to help repair and restore the late Paul Conrad's monumental 'Chain Reaction' 26-foot tall atomic mushroom cloud landmarked peace sculpture and warning monument that has been standing in the Santa Monica Civic Center since 1991.

Special Guest Performers & Speakers Will Include:

Michelle Phillips, Actress, activist and founding member of The Mamas and Papas will lead the highlighted Birthday Cake Peace Ceremony and will light 70 birthday candles in the shape of a glowing peace symbol on the specially decorated peace cake.

Chris Carter, Radio host of Breakfast With the Beatles will serve as the Event MC, and will join Ms. Phillips in the cake-cutting ceremony.

Q'orianka Kilcher, Actress, singer and activist who starred as Pocahontas in the film The New World directed by Terrence Malick will be the featured guest musical performer.

Alexandra Paul, Actress, activist, TV host of Earth Talk Today and star of the TV series Baywatch will be the featured guest speaker. 

Ye Olde Beetles, Live music and dancing to the classic songs of the talented and popular L.A. based Beatles tribute band.

Tee-M, Tariq Mirza, Beatles - influenced singer and rocker from Pakistan.

Stephen Longfellow Fiske, the popular activist singer/songwriter will perform his classic "Earth Anthem".

Ross Altman, talented "singer-songfighter".

Rick Overton, the longtime political humorist, comedy writer and actor will provide some comic relief for the challenging times we always seem to be facing.

David Zasloff, humorist and musician, David will open the party festivities with a soulful flute solo of "Happy Birthday".

Dave Conrad, the son of 'Chain Reaction' creator Paul Conrad will speak about how people can help save and restore the iconic public art sculpture that his late father gifted to the City of Santa Monica.

Ed Ellis, Past president of Veterans for Peace, Los Angeles and a founder of Arlington West, Santa Monica will talk about why VFP is a supporter of saving and restoring 'Chain Reaction'.

The specially decorated Peace Cake is being provided courtesy of the creative West Hollywood bakery Cake and Art.

Rusty's great food and drinks will be available the entire evening.

Doors will open at 6:00PM    Program Begins: 7:00PM

Admission at the door:  General admission: $20 ; low income: $10;  70th Birthday Gift Donor: $70  All proceeds will go towards the repair and restoration of 'Chain Reaction'.
