Birdie's Playhouse Children's Show @ Santa Monica Pier Aquarium

Join multi-talented children's performer Birdie Mendoza as she celebrates the release of her new CD Move Like An Animal with a special performance at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium.  This interactive concert will have kids and their parents dancing and shaking their tail feathers to tropical Latin beats and catchy refrains.  Admission is $10 per family (up to 2 adults and 2 children) and includes a free CD of Move Like An Animal as well as access to all the Aquarium exhibits and activities.

In addition to being soulful, upbeat and fun, Move Like An Animal teaches kids about animals and helps guide them through life. The song “Chimpanzees” shows us that all creatures are equal. “I’m a Toucan” and “Running Far” explain how to overcome obstacles and pursue your passions. Find out why gerbils are doing the "Furry Belly Dance” and what the cottontail rabbit’s best defense is!  Come hear Birdie's new ocean-themed songs "Sea Turtles" and "Dolphins,"  then enjoy the wonders of the aquarium --pet a spiky sea urchin, knobby sea star, sticky sea anemone and even a swell shark!!

About Birdie: For years Birdie performed as Michele Moreno at weddings, clubs and around the world as a back-up singer for artists including Ray Charles and Spain’s Raphael. In 2007 she released her own CD for grownups then two weeks later gave birth to her son. Realizing her days of world travel and late-night gigs were over, she re-invented herself. In 2010, using her music connections and songwriting/producer chops, Birdie released her debut kids CD, The Wild World of Wildlife, which went on to win two of the most prestigious awards in kids music: a Gold National Parenting Publications Award (NAPPA) and a Parent’s Choice Award.
