Description

Our local hills, and our native gardens offer an assortment of plants that have value for their medicinal properties and material uses. Nicholas Hummingbird Hernandez will help you to identify native plants commonly found in the Los Angeles Basin  that can be harvested and put to use in your daily life.

Nicholas Hummingbird Hernandez learned at a young age the value and uses of California native plants for their medicinal and material properties. Nicholas is Indigenous Californian and leads the Wishtoyo Foundation’s habitat restoration at the Chumash village in Malibu. He contributes to wildlife restoration efforts on the Channel Islands and teaches the importance of the relationships native peoples have with the environment through culture and respect.
