It’s Alive!
Once again, ghouls, it’s time to dawn your scariest and grab a board for our ‘Haunted Heats Halloween Surf Contest’ happening Saturday, October 26th at our very own Santa Monica beach Tower 26. Last year was our scariest yet with international press and loads of fans and participants in great costumes. This year we hope to continue the terror with the help of clandestine rituals to the dark wave god!
Here are some pointers on the contest for those interested in sacrificing/competing.
- This is a fun first contest with your results being a combination of costume, surf skill and incorporation of your costume in your surfing. Past examples include a viking with a prow on his surfboard, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz with Todo in a basket on the board or even a Luce Libre wrestler with a board decorated in Mexican fashion.

- There is a costume show to start the day followed by multiple heats divided by age. There are no qualifying heats or elimination heats… all scores are compared appropriately.
- Bring your own board and make sure you impress the shrewd judges with your own strange style. Chipotleburritos and delicious Vitacoco as a reward to all contestants following.

- We will also be raffling off a Firewire surfboard in support of Boarding For Breast Cancer as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Contestants and spectators alike are able to contribute.
