Hearing Loss Association of America - Santa Monica Chapter Meeting
November 8, 2014 Monthly Meeting Our Program: Coping with Hearing Loss Over the Holidays.
Please join us for an enlightening session with licensed Psychotherapist Val Stern to learn about coping strategies to get through the holidays with hearing loss.
Val is in Private Practice and in the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy at Special Spirit Inc., working predominantly with depression and anxiety using experiential techniques and mindfulness. She is also on staff at Shadow Hills Riding Center where she conducts equine assisted therapy to individuals as well as groups (recovery, women issues, and foster children).
CaptionCall representative Toni Barrient will also be there to demonstrate CaptionCall’s newest iPad app for captions on the go.

Each monthly meeting features speakers, rap sessions and informational presentations. Bring your questions. It is a 301c3 under the umbrella of the national Hearing Loss Association of America, an organization dedicated to education, advocacy and support for the 48 million Americans with hearing loss.
The group also heads out for lunch brunch afterwards to continue discussions and get to know one another. Remember, you are not alone with you’re hearing loss.

HLAA-Santa Monica is a local chapter of Hearing Loss Association of America. HLAA is a 501c3 nonprofit organization ( that serves people with hearing loss and their families by providing support, resources and education as a means to advocate for issues surrounding hearing loss.
