Night Sesh is taking on a new dimension of fun with the premier of Gracias LA‘s debut skate film ‘Gracias Skateboarding Volume Uno.’ That’s right, we said skate film… and we’re honored to be working with Gracias LA. They bring a communal and celebratory vibe to skating in Los Angeles and support local skaters that have worked here at the shop, been on the team, or just rolled through on a weekly basis. Alec Beck, Sebo Walker, Olan Prenatt and Brian Baca to name a few. This premier video has been alomst a year in the making and we are excited to see the final result in July.
Gracias LA started out making short internet videos of progressive skating with a small group of guys. In 2011, they were dropping montages about every 10 days, making 31 short internet videos in 2011. That is cool and all, but for their 5 year anniversary a full length video was necessary. Sometimes, internet videos seem disposable; meaning that there is so much stuff constantly coming out that really gnarly stuff sometimes is forgotten. This time, on our big inflatable screen on a hot July night, all the gnarly stuff will be remembered!
“Gracias Skateboarding” is basically a film about friends coming together and working on a project for the love of skateboarding. It is a collaboration between skateboarders, a filmmaker and a musician. Everyone involved loves skating and without it, we all probably would have never met. Check out our very own employee and super terrific guy, Brian Baca, pulling some moves locally.
