Non-profit art therapy clients and club members sell art for homeless children

April 26 Saturday 10 am to 3 pm in the ballroom of the Santa
Monica Bay Woman’s Club. All hand-made art from local non-profit art therapy
program clients:  including OPCC's
Daybreak Designs; Creative Minds,
which works with clients at Step Up On Second , and InsideOut Productions, which runs the
program at LA Goal.  Also art from the  Santa Monica Bay Woman’s Club and local
commercial artists will be on sale. The show will benefit art education at the
Skid Row Learning Center of School on
Wheels
and other non-profit art programs.

The mission of School
on Wheels
is to enhance educational opportunities for homeless children,
shrinking the gaps in their education and providing them with the highest level
of education possible.  The program serves as a consistent support system
to homeless students at a time of great stress and fear and includes the
message that they are cared about and important.

OPCC’s Daybreak Day
Center
is a meeting and gathering place specifically designed for mentally
ill homeless women. Daybreak is the only program on the Westside designed for
homeless women suffering from long-term debilitating mental illness.
