our friends at the Ocean Park Surf & Skate Clubare putting on their third annual surf contest at the end of this month! There are lost of categories for men, women, kids and even those odd bodysurfers. It’s a two day community surf contest that brings people together for a good time at the beach. Divisions include Bodysurf, Girls, Boys, Juniors, Women, Men, and Masters.
The contest is organized by the Ocean Park Surf Club and is presented by the ZJ Boarding House, along with a number of top local and industry sponsors including, Jeff Ho, SMA, Ocean Park Clothing Co., Arbor, Body Glove, Chano, Rip Curl, O’Neill, Anderson, Rip City, Bolt, Rider Shack, Ransom, REI, Bob’s Market, Converse, Bennett Skateboards, KeVita, Calavera, Shaper Supply, Bagel Nosh, and Starbucks.
There are also a number of community volunteers from the Ocean Park Surf Club that help to plan, organize, and manage the contest, including judging, support, and entertainment.

The 2013 contest is scheduled for July 27th and 28th, from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. each day. Saturday is qualifying, and Sunday is Bodysurfing and Finals. The Awards Presentation and a Ukulele performance will be in Beach Park Sunday at around 12:00 P.M.

The contest will be held at Lifeguard Tower 26 on Ocean Park Beach in Santa Monica. Tower 26 is where Ocean Park Boulevard hits the Pacific Ocean.
