Join us at this unique event as we learn from over 15 speakers in one day that share practical knowledge you can use with the kids in your organization.

Where: Santa Monica College (Bundy Campus), 3171 S Bundy Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90066

What: Practical knowledge that will help you keep kids safe and smart on social media.

When: Friday, April 25th, 2014

- Checkin: 9:30am to 10:00am at Santa Monica College Bundy Location.

- Keynote address starts promptly at 10:00am (Please don’t be late)

- Lunch at 12:30pm

- Last panel ends at 4:00pm

Who: This event is limited to 120 parents, professionals, PTA members, teachers, principals, IT professionals, student counselors and anyone else that wants to learn social media safety tips and tactics from experts that work with kids.

Why: In one full day each attendee will learn almost a dozen formulas they can start using with their Teens/Tweens (or in their school/organization) to keep kids safe online.

Panel Topics & Agenda:

1) Brief Overview of the 10 Hottest Apps (10am)

In less than 30 minutes, learn about the latest apps from a trusted industry expert. Discover how each app works and what you need to know for your Teens & Tweens. We’ll outline Snapchat, Instagram, Ask.fm, Vine, Twitter, Whisper and more.


2) Identity-Theft, Fraud, Cyber Security & How To Set Strong Online Passwords (10:30am)

Learn the counter-intuitive tips you can use to keep your kids safe from predators and identity theft. Learn the basics for secure passwords on every device. Also, we’ll be discussing the benefits of 2-step authentication.


3) How to Keep Kids From Spending too much 'Screen Time' on Mobile, Social & TV (11:30am)

Experts say to limit kids to 1-2 hours of screen time each day. Our panel will offer tips and suggestions to make sure your kids aren’t overusing their devices.


Lunch & Networking (12:30)

Enjoy a lunch from Chipotle and network with other educators and parents that are keeping kids safe.


4) Tips to Combat Cyber Bullying & Peer Pressure (1:15pm)

Educators and professionals will offer suggestions of how to identify the early signs and stop it early. Also, we’ll share positive and negative case studies from schools you can learn from.


5) Managing & Monitoring your Kids Online Reputation & Promoting Online Privacy (2:15pm)

Learn what tools you need to use to identify any online reputation issues that your kids might have. Do you comment and like each of their posts? We’ll tell you why that might not be such a good idea.


6) Ten Positive Ways to Post on Social Media to Impress Colleges & Employers (3:15pm)

Your Tweens & Teens want to be on social media, so let’s use this session to examine over a dozen great examples of positive posts.
