Textile Recycling & Awareness Event

The City of Santa Monica has planned for two textile collection events in
2014, the first of which is February 8th. The collection event will
be held at the City Yards, located at 2500 Michigan Avenue, Santa Monica, CA
90404. The event will commence at 9:00 AM and continue until 2:00 PM.

The goal of the collection event is to show Santa Monica residents how easy
it is to recycle clothing, bedding, shoes, and other textiles while also
emphasizing the need to do so. Although textile recycling hasn’t received the
same attention as glass, paper and plastic recycling, the fact is it’s equally
necessary. This is a very important step towards developing a zero waste city.
