Come enjoy the outdoors Aug. 11 and make a difference with Heal the Bay's Stream Team to restore areas of Malibu Creek State Park.

Come enjoy the outdoors and make a difference with Heal the Bay’s Stream Team! Heal the Bay is partnering with the Mountains Restoration Trust to restore areas of Malibu Creek State Park on August 11, 8:45 a.m.-Noon

Invasive plants have negative impacts on natural habitats, so removing them is vital for a healthy watershed. Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine while helping remove non-native vegetation in an effort to restore native plants along Malibu Creek and its many tributaries.

Please wear sturdy shoes. Bring plenty of water and a snack and a sunscreen/hat. Be prepared to get dirty. Gloves and tools will be provided. The work site is a 15-minute hike from the parking lot, and organizers and volunteers will leave for the work site promptly at 9 a.m. In the unlikely event of rain the restoration will be cancelled and you will need to sign up for the restoration event scheduled for a later date.

NOTE: The August restoration event will take place in a shady and cool spot in the Tapia Unit of Malibu Creek State Park. It is marked with a sign that reads "Malibu Creek State Park" and in smaller letters, "Tapia."
