Seeking to show the Earth some love this Earth Day? Join thousands of Earth-minded Angelenos this weekend (April 21-22) for beach clean ups and family-friendly activities organized by Heal the Bay.
- Santa Monica Beach, Nothin’ But Sand Cleanup April 21, 10 a.m.-noon Ian Somerhalder, star of The Vampire Diaries, will be joining the cleanup in collaboration with the California Coastal Commission, Heal the Bay and Whole Foods Market on the “Get Dirty Where You Live, Work & Play” Earth Day 2012 Initiative.
- Surfrider Beach, Malibu, Kayak and Beach Cleanup April 22, 9-11 a.m. Representatives from REI will be leading the kayak cleanup and offering kayaking tips, while Heal the Bay will manage the beach cleanup.
- Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, April 21-22, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The weekend-long festivities feature special Earth Day presentations and activities for all ages and an offer of free admission to everyone who cleans the beach.

Thanks for posting these very important FACTS that people here in Malibu need to be aware of.
While I generally support Heal the Bay, I think they are wrong when it comes to the Malibu Lagoon.
