Latest Real Estate News from the North Santa Monica Market

Five new listings, three sales and one closing mark another solid week of real estate sales activity in the North of Montana Ave neighborhood.

Five new listings, three sales and one closing mark another solid week of real estate sales activity in the North of Montana Ave neighborhood. All but one of these five new listings seem to be fully priced so look for only one or two new sales next week.

Interesting to note: A client asked me last week “Who are the buyers of these homes in our area?” My answer starts with the question “Who isn’t buying these homes?” The answer: Doctors.

Physicians have been largely priced out of 90402 as their incomes have eroded under heavy pressure from insurance companies. When I started brokering 90402 properties in the 80s, doctors were among the largest group of owners and buyers. These days, the development, entertainment, and the financial services industries are the predominant groups of owners and buyers.
