Is it Time to Recall Santa Monica CC?

In a meeting last night a few people brought up the subject of RECALL of CC. The conversation was shut down "very fast" by some in the group. But the point was made. Is it time to move in that direction? It was said that it's impossible to do and too costly. However, I believe when a real effort is made some positive changes will come of it with the help of press. I do believe change can be made by voting OUT the developer friendly CC members. And that WILL be done WHEN each voter who cared, encourages 5 Non-voters to pay attention and VOTE. I am guilty of being unconscious about what has been going on at City Hall, until the Palihouse moved in next door to me. When I went to City Hall and asked to speak to the Planner assigned to Palihouse, I was told he is in a meeting with a "HIGH PROFILE DEVELOPER". Ok, I understand he's "busy" and that's what should have been said to me. However, the way it was said was....your little issue means nothing compared to who's in there now. My eyes are wide open now and more people like me are WAKING-UP. Developers who live elsewhere OWN OUR city until WE VOTE NO! This MUST be a Community effort as a whole. NOT little groups just broken up into 7 association. It's time for the 7 associations to combine into ONE GROUP! We are feeling the effects of the OVER development of OUR city and nothing will change until WE residents PUSH to make that happen. DO YOU VOTE? WHO DO YOU KNOW THAT DID NOT? FIND 5 NON-VOTERS for the next election and get them on board. Word of mouth is the most powerful tool we have and it's FREE! My point is... Recall may not be the answer but it would bring attention to how CC Members vote on Development. Too few citizens vote. We can make REAL changes when we encourage more of our friends and family to vote OUT CC Members who are Voting for developers interests.
