Restoration Hardware: Stop Sending These 17lb Mailings

Over the past few weeks a massive thud has been heard on doorsteps all over Los Angeles. It's the sound of 17 pounds of retail thoughtlessness by Restoration Hardware. In many residences, their 3,300-page "Source Books" have piled up because our mail deliverers must leave them en masse in lobbies and communal areas for residents.

Many residents receiving these have already done their due diligence and unsubscribed from Restoration Hardware and yet have STILL received this wasteful set of catalogs. Included with this mailing is a statement about how the mailer is carbon neutral. That point is debatable. What isn't debatable is the nuisance this mailer creates. Even local office buildings have reported receiving up to 30 catalogs!
What also is debatable is the business case for sending this mailing.
The CEO of Restoration Hardware himself has said that only 20% of direct sales come from this mailer, and 80% is attributed to internet sales. How does that meter out as reasonable profits for RH? Please vote with your dollars and show them that their Source Books do not have a return on investment.
We are gathering together for a mass peaceful collection and return event this Saturday, June 14th at the 3rd Street Promenade location. Please feel free to let us know if we can collect these catalogs from you, or if you can join us to return them to sender along with us.
