3 Suspects Try To Steal ATM Machine From Le Meridien Hotel

One suspect was arrested after fingerprints from the crime scene revealed he was a contract security guard for the Santa Monica hotel.

On Jan. 4 at approximately 7:40 p.m. officer responded to the Le Meridian Hotel at 530 Pico Blvd. regarding an attempted burglary of an ATM machine. 

Witnesses said that three suspects were seen trying to remove an ATM machine from the hotel.  The suspects had removed it from the wall and were attempting to take it with a dolly when someone saw them and the suspects fled without taking the machine or any cash.

A forensic technician responded to the location and lifted a fingerprint from the crime scene.  The fingerprint identified the subject as a contract security guard that worked for the hotel.  From that identification, detectives were able to locate and arrest the suspect.
