PCH Reopns After Crash Injures 2 Drivers
Two people are hurt, one critically, in the crash on northbound Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica.
An injury crash prompted Santa Monica Police to close a stretch of northbound Pacific Coast Highway for more than two hours Thursday afternoon, jamming traffic on Ocean Avenue.
The crash hospitalized two people. One person was in critical condition and the other suffered moderate to severe injuries, according to police.
The accident was reported at 12:22 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of PCH when a vehicle making a right turn out of a private beach club was struck by another car that was southbound on PCH, police said.

Department spokesman Sgt. Richard Lewis said drugs or alcohol were not believed to a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Northbound Pacific Coast Highway was closed until just before 3 p.m. between the 10 Freeway and the California Incline. Traffic on the westbound 10 Freeway was diverted to the 4th/5th St off-ramp in Santa Monica.

Traffic on Ocean Avenue was backed up south of downtown and north of Montana Avenue. The California Incline on-ramp to PCH was also closed.
