Man Exposes Himself on Promenade

Faris Shamier, 64, of Sun Valley is accused of whipping out his penis and brushing up against the backside of someone who was watching a street performance at about 9:50 p.m. Saturday on the Third Street Promenade.

Shamier was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery and indecent exposure. Bail was set at $20,000.

Machete Used in Alleged Assault

A woman who reported her home in the 19000 block of 19th Street was being burglarized Dec. 6 was later arrested herself after police said they found a machete inside the residence.

Cece Debarge, 49, allegedly used the machete to attack the people inside her home, who were actually her landlord and a maintenance worker who had given Debarge proper notice they'd be doing a repair, police said.

Debarge was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $30,000.

Santa Monica Man Hides Alleged Crack Pipe in Shoe

Calvin Lane, 56, of Santa Monica was jailed Saturday after police found alleged cocaine in his white Cadillac Seville and a glass pipe hidden in his shoe.

Lane was pulled over by police while driving in the 2000 block of Delaware. The license plate was dangling from the rear of the car, and police said they were unable to read it. Lane reportedly gave officers permission to search his car.

Thieves Target Six Promenade Stores

Four men from Long Beach and Los Angeles are suspected of stealing recently from six Third Street Promenade stores: Sephora, Apple, Urban Outfitters, Brookstone, Pac Sun, and Footlocker.

Travyon Plummer, 22, of Long Beach; Richard Green, 22, of Los Angeles; Orlando Boatwright, 22, of Los Angeles and Dominuqe Tate, 22 of Long Beach were arrested Dec. 7 after security officers from Sephora followed the men from the make-up retailer into Brookstone.

Police said they detained the suspects, then found them in possession of alleged stolen property from all of the stores.

Venice Woman Found With Alleged Crack Pipe

A 35-year-old Venice woman was arrested Dec. 5 on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Police said the woman, Veronica Mae Lynch, was allegedly holding a cylindrical glass pipe used to smoke cocaine while sitting in the back seat of her ex-boyfriend's car. The man had called police to after Lynch showed up at his house at about 10:40 p.m. and yelled profanities because she was upset over their break-up.

The ex-boyfriend reportedly left his car un-locked and wanted Lynch to leave.
