Suspect Leads CHP on Chase Along PCH

Suspect is arrested after chase ends at Point Mugu.

Deputies pursued a suspect in a white SUV both south and then back north on Pacific Coast Highway in the Malibu area before the chase ended at Point Mugu Monday.

The pursuit began in Ventura County when a California Highway Patrol officer tried to pull over the suspect vehicle on suspicion of speeding, according to CBS2.

The pursuit led into Pacific Palisades before the suspect's vehicle approached a traffic jam and pulled a U-turn on PCH, heading back toward Malibu just after 6 p.m.

At about 6:15 p.m. the pursuit was traveling north through Malibu heading back toward Ventura County, passing the Point Dume area at moderate speeds.

The pursuit ended when the CHP deployed spike strips at Point Mugu. The suspect came to a stop and surrendered to deputies. He was taken into custody without incident.
