Eyewitness Account: Santa Monica Plane Crash

Kyle Cascadden lives right by the Santa Monica Airport runway. Authorities say the crash was "unsurvivable."

Santa Monica resident Kyle Cascadden lives near the Santa Monica airport runway where a twin engine Cessna crashed at around 6:20 p.m.

Cascadden told Patch he heard "the screeching sound of metal for about 15 seconds before hearing 3 loud explosions (the engines I assume).

The Cessna Citation jet [N194SJ] landed from Hailey, ID when its landing gear broke sending it into the row of three hangers to its right where the hangars immediately caught fire.

Cascadden took the above photos just minutes after the crash.

While it's still unclear how many people were on the plane, A Santa Monica Fire Department spokesman said the crash was "unsurvivable."

There have also been unconfirmed scanner reports that a celebrity may have been on the plane.
