Homeless Woman Arrested For Trespassing

Kathleen Johnson was arrested at 1447 11th St.

On Sept. 26 at 9:30 p.m. Santa Monica police officers were conducting a periodic check for trespassers at 1447 11th St. in which a current authorization to arrest trespass letter had been filed by the owner of the property.

During the check, a female was found to be on the property and lied to the officer as to why she was there.  She told the officer that she was representing the property owner; however, she had no proof that she was working for the owner.

The responding officer told the violator that he was going to warn her this time but that he needed to get some basic identifying information from her before he released her.  The subject told the officer that she would not cooperate and began to leave.  The officer told her that she would be taken to jail if she did not cooperate.  The subject told the officer that she would rather go to jail. The officer arrested her pursuant to the arrest letter for trespassing.
