Housekeeper Robbed at Gunpoint Inside Home

Two to three armed individuals steal cash and jewelry.

A housekeeper was robbed at gunpoint inside a home north of Wilshire Boulevard on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. inside a home near the 1000 block of Berkeley Street (north of Lipton Avenue). Two to three individuals carrying handguns entered the residence and stole cash and jewelry from the housekeeper. They then fled in a newer-model crew-cab truck. The housekeeper called .

Police have not announced the amount of stolen cash stolen or the value of the stolen jewelry.

Police are investigating the incident. They have not released descriptions of the suspects. The housekeeper said they were black men. Police have also not determined the color of the vehicle they were driving.

In late April, three masked suspects robbed a person of an estimated $1.5 million in jewelry in an apparent heist in an alley near Wilshire Boulevard and 21st Street, which is less than a mile away from the 1000 block of Berkeley. At least one of the suspects had a gun.
