Bulger Found Guilty of Federal Charges Two Years After Santa Monica Arrest

James "Whitey" Bulger had 30 weapons and $822,000 in cash stashed in his Santa Monica Apartment, just blocks from the beach, while on the run as a Top Ten Fugitive.

James "Whitey" Bulger, who lived in Santa Monica for years while on the run as a Top Ten Fugitive, was found guilty today of 11 murders, racketeering, conspiracy and money laundering.

Bulger was found guilty of 11 of the 19 murders he was charged with, WHDH reported.

Bulger, 83, was arrested in Santa Monica in 2011. The alleged Boston mob boss and Top Ten Fugitive who was on the run for decades, lived at the Princess Eugenia apartment complex with his girlfriend, Catherine Greig, in Santa Monica, just blocks from the beach.

Santa Monica neighbors were astounded when they learned the Boston legend lived next door.

Bulger had 30 weapons and $822,000 in cash hidden in the Santa Monica apartment. He also had in his apartment books written by Kevin Weeks, Bulger's former lieutenant, and Bulger associate Patrick Nee, another South Boston gangster who's been implicated in the murders.

The FBI lured Bulger out of his apartment by telling him someone had broken into his storage locker.

During the trial, the prosecution called 63 witnesses while the defense put on 10, which began in June.
