UPDATE: Firefighters Say they "Have a Handle" on PCH Blaze
Over two acres are currently burning according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire on Pacific Coast Highway in the Santa Monica/Pacific Palisades area is being treated with water drops and over 150 firefighters. Firefighters say they've got a handle on a brush fire high in the Santa Monica Mountains, where a downed power line apparently set the chaparral ablaze about noon.
That fire in the 12-hundred block of Old Topanga Canyon Road only a half-acre, but it could have been worse. Fire officials are urging people to be extremely cautious because of the winds and tinder dry conditions.
According to officials, the blaze was reported at 3:08 p.m. and over 2 acres were burning. Los Angeles Fire Department Spokesperson Brian Humphrey said structures in the area were being threatened.

Northbound lanes of the freeway in the 14800 block have been closed.
